The FROG @ease Floating Sanitizing System uses SmartChlor
Technology to make maintaining your hot tub a breeze. With the @ease
System, your tub will require 75% less chlorine with no frustrating changes
in levels because it kill bacteria two ways, with the minerals and chlorine.
Shock is only needed once a month and its easier on your hot tub surfaces with
less odors. The Mineral Cartridges help keep pH balanced for clearer and
softer water. Using the FROG @ease Floating Sanitizing System will help
you maintain your water chemistry with less constant upkeep.
To begin, water should be at least 85 degrees Fahrenheit.
When adding chemicals into the tub, dilute them first in at least 1 gallon of
water directly from the hot tub. When solution is fully diluted, pour into the
hot tub with jets on high. Chemical granules that are allowed to settle at the
bottom of the tub will damage and stain the acrylic.
1.)
Fill your hot tub up with your garden hose.
Remove the filters and place the hose directly in the filter housing. This will
help prevent an airlocked pump. An air lock is the restriction or stoppage of
water flow caused by air being trapped in the pipe system. An airlock will
prevent the pump from operating.
a.
Depending on the water quality in your area, you
may need to use a pre-filter. Bring in a water sample to determine if a
pre-filter is needed.
b.
Well water mineral levels may vary. Bring in a
water sample to determine what extra steps may be necessary to get started.
2.)
Mix 1 bottle of the Amerse Metal & Stain
Control into at least 1 gallon of hot tub water and dilute. With jets on
high, pour this solution into the hot tub. This removes excess magnesium and
iron that causes bodies of water to turn cloudy and green.
3.)
Remove one test strip from the FROG @ease
Test Strip container and dip into your hot tub water. Remove and read
immediately, basing the color off the range provided on the side of the tube. Each
test strip reading is valid for up to 30 seconds after dipping the strip in
water.
4.)
Your Calcium level should be between 150 to 200
ppm. While the jets are still on add ½ oz. of Amerse Calcium Increaser
to increase the hardness level 7 ppm. Continue to add until you reach the
optimum Calcium Hardness level.
5.)
Test the pH and alkalinity range. Your pH should
be between 7.2 and 7.8. Alkalinity should be between 80 to 120 ppm.
a.
If the pH
and Alkalinity level is too high, above 7.8 and above 120 ppm, add ¼ oz or 1 ½
teaspoons of Amerse pH & Alkalinity Down. Let jets run for 30
minutes and test with test strip again. Repeat the process if the pH and
Alkalinity continues to be too high.
b.
If the pH
level is too low, below 7.2 and below 80 ppm, add 1 oz or 2 tablespoons of pH
and Alkalinity Down. Let jets run for 2 hours and retest with test strip
again. If the pH and Alkalinity level continues to test too low, repeat the
process.
c.
Note: If your pH level is within the optimum
range and your Alkalinity level is still low, you can use a separate product
that will raise the Alkalinity level alone.
6.)
Add the FROG Jump Start packet. Use 1
packet for every 600 gallons. This will establish an initial residual chlorine
level of 0.5 to 1.0 ppm.
7.)
Connect the top half, Blue FROG @ease Mineral
Cartridge, to the bottom, Silver FROG @ease SmartChlor Cartridge.
Twist the dial on the SmartChlor Cartridge to change the setting number
for your tub:
a.
200-299 Gallons | Setting #1
b.
300-450 Gallons | Setting #2
c.
451-559 Gallons | Setting #3
d.
551-600 Gallons | Setting #4
8.)
You may choose to remove the Floating System
while using the tub. Immediately return system back into tub after use.
9.)
When the FROG @ease Floating System flips
completely over, it is time to change the SmartChlor Cartridge.
a.
Each SmartChlor Cartridge will last about
3 to 4 weeks in an average 400 gallon tub.
b.
Each Mineral Cartridge will need to be
replaced every 4 months or when draining and refilling the hot tub.
